Maryland pharmacy-law study guide
Prepare a Maryland pharmacy-law review plan using the licensing board's current rules. Focus on pharmacy practice definitions, pharmacist licensure, compounding standards. The $99 purchase covers Maryland law only, without Federal law. Choose $125 for one state + Federal, or $180 for two distinct eligible states without Federal, subject to availability. Existing buyers retain their previously granted Federal access. Review Federal requirements separately and confirm which examination and licensing pathway applies to you.
MPJE or UMPJE?
Applicants choose. Since June 1, 2026, the Maryland Board of Pharmacy lets applicants take either the UMPJE or the Maryland MPJE. Anyone choosing the UMPJE must also complete a Maryland-specific module: recorded materials and a competency assessment, delivered as a 2-hour webinar plus a test [S1]. NABP lists the Maryland MPJE retiring May 31, 2027 [S2]. The Board cautions that students "should not assume that the UMPJE alone completes Maryland's jurisprudence expectations" [S1].
Maryland rules worth knowing
- CE (COMAR 10.34.18.03). 30 hours in the 2 years before the license expires, including 1 hour on preventing medication errors and 2 hours of live instruction. Keep records for 4 years. Licenses expire on the last day of your birth month every other year [S3].
- Vaccinating pharmacists. 4 of the 30 hours must relate to vaccinations [S3].
- PDMP (COMAR 10.47.07.03). Dispensers report at least once every 24 hours, including zero reports [S4].
- No fixed technician ratio. Technicians work under direct supervision, meaning a pharmacist physically available onsite (COMAR 10.34.34.02) [S5].
