Ohio UMPJE study guide

Which law exam Ohio uses

For exam dates on or after October 1, 2026, Ohio accepts only the Uniform MPJE [S1]. NABP shows Ohio's UMPJE starting April 1, 2026 with the Ohio MPJE retired September 30, 2026. Transfer applicants need a prior passing UMPJE or MPJE score [S2]. Ohio has been UMPJE-only since October 1, 2026.

Ohio rules worth knowing

  • CE (OAC 4729:1-5-02). 30 contact hours before each renewal, including at least 2 hours of pharmacy jurisprudence and 2 hours of patient or medication safety, earned within two years of September 15 of the renewal year [S3].
  • OARRS. Pharmacies report each reportable dispensing within 24 hours. Since July 1, 2026, data must be sent in the ASAP 5.0 format (OAC 4729:8-3-03) [S4][S5].
  • No fixed technician ratio. Outpatient pharmacies must schedule enough staff to avoid fatigue and distraction, and staffing can't be based on prescription volume alone (OAC 4729:5-5-02) [S6].
