Nebraska pharmacy-law study guide

Prepare a Nebraska pharmacy-law review plan using the licensing board's current rules. Focus on technician registration, pharmacy staffing, drug product selection. The $99 purchase covers Nebraska law only, without Federal law. Choose $125 for one state + Federal, or $180 for two distinct eligible states without Federal, subject to availability. Existing buyers retain their previously granted Federal access. Review Federal requirements separately and confirm which examination and licensing pathway applies to you.

MPJE or UMPJE?

Nebraska DHHS accepts either the Nebraska MPJE or the UMPJE for licensure by exam and by reciprocity [S4]. NABP lists Nebraska's UMPJE start as June 1, 2026 and the Nebraska MPJE retiring May 31, 2028, with the UMPJE required for transfer [S1]. The 2020 rule, 172 NAC 128, still names only the MPJE with a score of 75 [S2]. It predates the change and is outdated.

Nebraska rules worth knowing

  • PDMP reports all prescriptions. Unlike most states, Nebraska requires dispensers to report every prescription drug dispensed, controlled or not (controlled substances only for animal patients). Reports go in at least daily, with zero reports on days with nothing to report [S3].
  • CE. 30 hours in the 24 months before renewal. Licenses renew by January 1 of even-numbered years [S4].
  • Technician supervision (Neb. Rev. Stat. 38-2866.01). A pharmacist may supervise up to four technicians and interns combined. If all four are technicians, at least one must be certified [S5].
