IV flow rate (mL/hr and gtt/min)

Claim

IV pump rate in mL/hr is volume (mL) ÷ time (hr). Drop rate in gtt/min is (volume mL × drop factor gtt/mL) ÷ time (min). Always match the set’s drop factor and the ordered volume/time.

Plain

mL/hr = mL ÷ hours. gtt/min = (mL × drop factor) ÷ minutes. Wrong drop factor = wrong rate.
